His Love

Is it normal for a 10 month old to be in love with someone other than his mama...or daddy???? Nolan has been in love with Eebee since we was 3 months old. It was the first show he paid any attention to, and still is the only show. He likes to watch other things, but nothing...nothing...keeps his attention like Eebee. The smile he makes when he hears the theme song just melts me. Today when I was picking up the house...something I do more of during the summer...I thought I would put in an Eebee video. It usually keeps him busy so that I can get some things done. The video runs for 70 minutes. He sat in the living room for the full 70 minutes. I could not believe it. I didn't want him watching TV for so long, but what can I say....I got some things done!!

After 15 minutes

After 45 minutes

After 60 minutes. He was so focused he didn't even notice me behind him :)

When Mommy is Away........

Nolan will play.......................

Nolan is a loud player. He yells, laughs, screams. He is alll boy. His toys are loud toys. He has a Learn and Laugh door that he loves, a pop up ball toy that makes him squeal, a set of bongos that he dances too...you get the picture. No matter where I am in the house I can tell what he is playing with. Yesterday, as I was cleaning the kitchen, I noticed something. Quiet. In my 10 months of being a mommy, I have learned that quiet is never good. I looked around the corner and no one was there. While I love our new house, I am still getting use to having to go find our curious little man. My bedroom, guest room, laundry room, living room, bathroom (a favorite these days), and finally Nolan's room. I had to keep my laughter inside when I found him pulling everything out of the dresser. I quickly grabbed my camera with out him seeing, snuck behind him, and took these pics.

Caught ya!!!!!

On the Move

Today we spent the afternoon with friends. Lisa, Alison, Stacy and I went to high school together...Lisa and I go way back elementary school. It's fun to see us all with children now, and to see them play together. I wish I would have gotten some shots of Nolan playing with Alison's kiddos, Libby (4) and Jack (2). He had a blast chasing them around the house. His crawl is almost as fast as their run! Lisa brought sweet little Bailey. She was a perfect two month old...slept and ate the entire time she was there :) Of course, Nolan had fun with Savannah. Stacy and I love to watch them together. I tried for two hours to get a cute picture of them, but they were on the move the entire time we were there. So much for the days when we could sit them next to each other and take all the pictures we wanted!

The ONLY picture I got with both of their faces. I had to get an action shot...they WOULD NOT stay still!

So, Alison lives on a "farm" of sorts. Okay, not a farm, but close enough. She has cows, horses, chickens, and a garden the size of my back yard. This morning one of the little chickens hatched. Cute little Libby brought it in side the house to play with. The babies loved it!

By all means.............

Don't take the kid's paci and pretend it's yours!

We went from this cute face...all the way to...............

...........this pitiful face in about 45 seconds.

So, I gave it back and all was well :)

ZOOtastic Time!

Today was Nolan's first trip to the Nashville Zoo. The zoo opens bright and early, so I was thinking we would get in there before the Nashville humidity set in...WRONG. Man, it was steamy today. The air was thick thick...plus I think they pump a little extra thickness into the air at the zoo to give it that "jungle" feel. Nolan could have cared less about the animals or the carousel ride. He could have watched people all day long!

Nolan, Grandma and Elise

Nolan, Mommy and Patrick...of course we rode the monkey!

The one animal that seemed to catch his attention was a bird. I can see why...they were BEAUTIFUL!

Pray

Pray that I make it through the summer. Nolan is into every thing at our new house. He is either in a box, trying to get in a box, in the fridge, trying to get in the fridge, in a drawer, trying to get in a drawer....the list keeps growing. Here is a taste of what the past 72 hours have looked like in the Smith house.
